Oakley Jawbone Sunglasses

Recently I rode almost 10,000 feet up Mt Haleakala (a massive volcano that forms more than 75% of Maui) in just under 4 hours. Although I’m no Ryder Hesjedal, the current Giro D’Italia champ who holds the record an hour and a half faster, (Frikken Awesome), I did feel like I won my own polka dot climbers jersey. As usual, I rode it wearing my favorite sunglasses, the Oakley Jawbone. They provided impressive visual clarity in the bright Hawaiian sun, and I was most impressed with their performance on the descent. The Haleakala descent takes you from 10,000 feet above the clouds down through lava rock fields and finally to ocean level. I never felt my eyes watering once, or had difficulties adjusting to the changing light conditions. These details are important when you’re descending at top speeds through blind corners, and steep windy descents where visual acuity is not only a luxury, but necessary to prevent a date with the ditch.
