Aqua Expedition is not your typical prune juice cruise. There is nothing I would hate more than been trapped on a cruise ship with 900 other guests. I wouldn’t normally be one take take a cruise, but after seeing Aqua Expeditions and their Aria Amazon cruise ship, the tide is about to change. For starters, my jaw dropped when I saw the matte black ship design. Based on a river boat, Peruvian architect Jordi Puig has designed one spectacular modern ship. The Aria Amazon is a custom 45 meter ship that contains 16 design suites that have been outfitted with AC, polished hardwood floors, en-suite bathrooms, and the best feature, the floor to ceiling windows (a feature we feel places the amazon at the forefront as it should be). The Arial Amazon hosts a maximum of 32 guests serviced by 24 crew. That’s almost 1.3 guests for ever crew member! With figures like that no more fighting for space on a ship that feels like its exclusively yours. With world class dinning, in/out door lounges, workout facilities, and a host of professional staff including naturalist guides, Aqua Expeditions have believers out of us that cruises aren’t just for the old and retired.
