Roll out the heavy artillery with the Artek 400 “Tank Chair”. As far as design goes, the Artek 400 “Tank Chair” is a true heavy hitter. Alvar Aalto, one of the founders of Artek, was a master of modern architecture. As with all masters, his talents transcend into other areas developing pieces that are as individual as his surroundings. This chair is one of my favorite pieces, it combines beautifully balanced proportions with an airy feel and incredible comfortable. Made in Finland by Artek, the chair’s design utilizes bent birch plywood for the tank treads, and comes in a variety of upholstery to suit the interior designer in all of us.
