Ossidiana Espresso Coffee Maker

Your double shot is waiting in Alessi’s Ossidiana Espresso Coffee Maker. This new take on the original Moka stove-top espresso machine was designed by Sicilian architect Mario Trimarchi for Alessi. Rather than a complete departure from the traditional Moka, Mario was inspired by the multiple shapes of the original design and the organic curves of volcanic stone. Like the original, the Ossidiana is cast from aluminum and finished with a black thermoplastic resin knob and handle. The Ossidiana is definitely worth leaving out on display, but the jury is still out whether this new design makes a better brew than Alfonso Bialetti’s 1933 Moka design.
