Introducing the Poglia & Co. Horn & Wood Handled Axe, a prime example of two worlds merging. In the world of tools, design doesn’t typically stray too far from tradition. Poglia & Co. have done the opposite and created an axe rich in heritage and creative in design that is nothing less than pure artistry. I can safely say this is one wicked looking tool that I’d proudly use anytime and anywhere. Handmade in Brazil from re-purposed Brazilian carbon steel plowing discs (used original to sow the land), each axe is hand-cut using a plasma cutter. Once cut, the blade goes through a rigorous finishing process. It is then sandwiched between a hickory wood and horn handle. Designer Max Poglia, a true master of artistry, has blown us away once again with his one of-a-kind creation of this Kaufmann Mercantile exclusive.
