High-tech meets low-tech with the bamboo and carbon fiber Semester Bike. As cool as a wooden bike sounds, we’re still curious if it can withstand a beating like a steel, aluminum, or carbon bike. Semester Bikes they have taken it to the next level by producing a fabricated hexagon shaped main triangle with a full-on composite core, producing an incredibly sexy looking bike. Hero bikes started the project with the intention of producing bikes that not only employed local residents (jobs that are badly needed), it also sources all of its material locally. In fact, they have a huge bamboo reserve down the street from the shop! How cool is that! With the idea to support the local community with the added bonus of local sustainable green practices, have managed to create a machine that is sophisticated and sleek.
