The Charred Commode Side Table is as unique as the fire used to create it. Fire is as important to a lumberJac as the forest itself, and the Japanese have been combining the two for centuries. Inspired by ancient Japanese wood construction, Michael James of Moran Woodworked Furniture have created a bedside table unlike anything else that focuses on the burning process. The burning process was originally used to prevent rot and bug infestation, however, James adapted it in this one-of-kind collection. The Charred Commode is made of Loblolly pine/clear pine, and is finished with multiple coats of clear zero VOC water based finish. We appreciate how each piece comes with natural history, and as an added bonus, with every piece sold a donation is made to the Arbor Day Foundation. Get this limited edition piece here.
