The Douk-Douk Knife

The Douk-Douk Knife - LumberJac

It’s time to clean out those pockets and make room for the Douk-Douk Knife. It’s not your typical knife that’s packed with all the bells and whistles you’ll rarely ever use, but rather a classic Turkish Clip contour design made of high carbon steel forged in France. It’s so simple it doesn’t even have a locking mechanism, but not to worry as the the back spring is strong enough to safely keep the blade open. The Douk-Douk has been in production since 1929, and was originally intended as an inexpensive utility knife for the working men in French colonies. The ferro-blackened folded steel handle depicts a “douk-douk”, a Melanesian spirit incarnation known to bring good luck.
